SB Coat (Solvent-Based)
SB Coat Soft Plastic Paint is the same as VPI but in a "ready to use" form for painting and decorating soft plastic lures. It is a pigmented coating that does not bleed or migrate like dyes. SB Coat can be brushed, dotted, or dipped. It is also airbrush ready and can be modified with thinner to be more versatile. Addition of retarder may be needed in warmer weather. Non-fluorescent soft plastic colors can be added to Clear SB Coat to make your own colors. Glitters and pearls work well also.
SB Coat Dotting Paint is a thicker and more concentrated paint than regular SB Coat. Dotting Paint has a high percentage of retarder in it which gives it a slower drying time. It works well with Paasche’s® Flow Pencil™ (Airbrush Accessories) for lines, dots and eyes. The slower drying time also allows it to be brushed like art paints. SB Coat Dotting Paint can be modified with thinner for airbrushing and dipping applications. It is compatible with regular VPI paint and SB Coat Soft Plastic Paint.
SB Coat and Dotting Paint must be applied outside or in a room with proper ventilation, i.e. exhaust fan. Use NIOSH approved respirator (Safety Accessories) and safety glasses when painting. LureWorks also offers the Paasche® Spray Booth (Painting Accessories) for airbrushing.
